May is now half over and I have been one busy little girl.
The first week in may I had an easy week! I worked two days, went to class one day, and had a four day weekend! The weekend was divided up evenly between the family and the boy. Had a great time! I will have to post pictures later but right now I just don't feel like it :)
The second week was easy yet hard. Only worked one day (good thing about being in college bosses understand final week) Then from Tuesday till Thursday I took finals ever day! That Friday I had a nice relaxing day at the spa, and then another great weekend at home!
This is my first full week of being full time at a job. Some might not call it a full time job because I only work 4 days a week. But for me I do because that is double what I normally work! That means two extra days a week I must look put together. No more tank top Tuesday or sweat pants Thursday! I think that as an adult we should be asked if we are ready to grow up or not, not just be thrown into grown-up-ness!
Oh how I miss the days of sitting back and pretending to work on school while watching that dog and meddling kids on scooby doo! But that was three weeks ago! Back at the end of April and now I am an adult. Or so people keep telling me... I think they are all just kidding and someday soon I will have my carefree days again :)

April
Hello all!
April is almost over and I never shared with you guys what I was looking forward to this month. Well obviously it was my birthday. But y'all should all know that by now.
May is going to be here before I know it so lets talk about my plans for this May. Once May gets here school will be over and I will have a little bit more free time! With this free time I am planning on starting my studying for my PT certificate! I have learned a lot over this semester hanging out with different PT and staff.
I will also start being classified as a full time employee at my job. This comes with its pros and cons.
My pay checks will go up! But my lazy clothes days Tuesday and Thursday will not happen any more! This growing up stuff is for the birds!!
This May I will also be finishing up my application for grad school! I don't think I will enjoy it much, there are a lot of research paper I will have to write, but it will be a really good career choice!
This weekend I am going to be getting a four day weekend! I LOVE long weekends! The only bad thing is that with not having school on Thursday I will not be working out at the gym like I should.
In April I have increased my weights that I use when working out. But when I said I did that's a lie my trainer made me increase my weights! Since my morning trainer has left the area I have not been getting up and running like I was there for a while and I miss it. After my morning run I would feel so good and it was also helping me from stressing too much over the little things. This morning I decided was a good time to start it up again and I ran 10 mins straight without feeling tired! I was so proud of myself tomorrow I am going to try going 15 mins.
That is it for this month and next I will be back at the end of May at least :)

February?
It seems as if I can't keep up with blogging as much as I would like, but once a month is better than none :)
*** First day for online classes ***
*** First day of my Senior year actual classes ***
*** Random after workout photos ***

Now in other news of the month....
1) I am no longer an employee on campus, I am now (as of this Friday) officially out in the real world with my jobs! I am a big girl now! My official job title is a staff accountant at a local CPA firm in college town. Everyone keeps telling me I am going to hate the job, but I really don't think I will!
2) Classes are still going good. After tomorrow I will have taken my first round of test. Only 10 more weeks until classes are over almost half way done!
3) Currently working out twice a day! And for the most part I am loving it! Doing 5K training in the mornings and the a bootcamp in the evenings. Love both of my trainers! They are encouraging and understand.
4) I don't know if I have told y'all but I am planning on getting my personal trainer certification. I bough the book this week and going to start studying for it.

Favorite part about this month - Getting the new job and buying the book!
Favorite part about this month - Getting the new job and buying the book!
Least favorite part - How the weather is going back and forth. I wish it would just decide one way or another.
What I am looking forward to next month - Spending the weekend with my cousin, all the birthday fun and spring break!
What I am looking forward to the least - The semester will be half over and that means mid-terms! BOO! And one of my trainers will be leaving the state and going back home!

January almost over?
Last semester ended and a new one has started. Its going to be a fun year! Only working one job (as of now at least) and four classes. My classes are going to be on the easier side! Which is great! This semester was the official start of my senior year and I will admit when I didn't receive a good luck text from any of my uncles or aunts I was a little sad! But today is a new day and since then I have gotten over this!
I am hoping to add a few pictures tonight of my first day of school and I will talk a little more about my typical week for this semester.
Last Monday, the night before classes started, The Boy called me up and wanted to take me out to celebrate my senior year! We ate dinner at TGIF, I had a really good chicken bacon sandwich and he enjoyed a steak. We didn't hang out too long since we were both tired and had a busy next day.
This past Sunday, I took The Boy out to celebrate him passing his Journeyman's license test. I have been finding all kinds of deals on Groupon the last few weeks! And so we had a Groupon date night. It started out with Ice Skating at the mall, neither of us had been in years. He use to go all the time so he was a natural, I on the other hand only remember going a few times. Therefore my goal was to not fall on my bottom, his goal was to do some skate trick thing. I accomplished my goal, he didn't but its all good since I didn't fall!
After a little while of skating we decided to do a little window shopping around the mall. Then we went our to Pluckers. It was a really good restaurant, we had a gift card so we went all out and still didn't spend it all! But this way we get to go back again. Its a lot like Buffalo Wild Wings. Once we were done with dinner we went over to the Studio Movie Grill. While watching the movie we got a drink and dessert. It was a lot of fun. Plus with the groupon we saved a lot of money!
This really all the fun stuff I have been doing lately. Darbi has been in town this week, so each night we have been out shopping for this or that! Looks like she has my love of shopping in her!

Week 7 of 16
Only 8 to go. Last week I didn't get everything finished on my list but I am okay with that :) This week is going to be busy. But I have almost finished all the homework that is due for this week so that is good! My hand/arm isn't giving me pins and needles like it did last weekend but it has been sore a lot and mostly in my wrist and elbow. I was a big girl on Friday and got my oil changed and tires rotated. Cooking for only one is hard and not fun! Last night I did decided to pamper myself with homemade lasagna and garlic bread! It was very yummy! I wish y'all could have been there, was going to take a picture but when it was finished I was way too hungry to stop and take a picture. Week 6
The first week in October. It seems as if this semester is going by really fast, yet really slow! So much to finish before the end of the semester and most of the stuff I don't even want to deal with. I have been told that I will miss this once I am out in the real world. But honestly I don't think I will :) Can't wait to have only one job and no homework to do each night. Maybe then I will be able to work on one of the quilts I have started, take up more diy projects, and have more fun with cooking. Now it is on to this weeks to-do list...

Friday
6:30 am - Alarm doesn't go off!!! Which is a good thing cause I wasn't going to work that day! But I still woke up right around this time... But back to sleep I went till....wait for it.....7:30AM! I was so excited and hour of extra sleep!
7:30 am - Lay around in bed until 8 and then get out of bed and eat breakfast.
8:26 am - Clean my room from the week, start a load of laundry, and organize some small things I've been wanting to do.
9:26 am - Start on my homework for the weekend. Get 2 full subjects finished and started on the 3rd one.
11:16 am - Out of the shower and dressed. Went up to the gas station to get buns for lunch, eat lunch, and finished packing for a weekend at mom's.
1:17 pm - Leave for town and go by the bank, and walmart.
1:59 pm - Meet Grandad and Grammy at the movies. I was the youngest one there and people on the front row were talking about the young girl that was coming in!
3:00-ish pm - Leave for mom's house
5:00-ish pm - Make it to mom's, hang out with the kids, watch tv, eat dinner, and then go to bed.

Thursday
6:30 am - Alarm goes off! Dressed, and out the door by 7
7:30 am - In s'ville heading to rec center. Worked out till and then got dressed for the day.
8:28 am - Made it to my car, ate breakfast, and listened to the radio until classes start.
9:25 am - Ethics. This class is going to be interesting, we have to print off the slides each week and then copy everything she writes down. There is no homework to turn in, there is optional writing assignments that if we do a good job on can increase our test scores by a letter grade. So I am all over those!
10:50 am - Financial Accounting. Didn't do much in thins class just went over like 5 pages of the chapter. It wasn't that complicated of information so I'm not sure while we spent so much time on it.
12:05 - Out of class. Went to meet Gram, Ma, and Pa for lunch at a little cafe in town. Stopped by the bank and noticed that they gave me the wrong papers to fill out. So had to wait while she re-did the papers. But it was fine I still had a little while till my classes started.
2:25 pm - Fed Tax. This is going to be one of the hardest classes. The professor doesn't make things clear. When teaching he goes through problem sets from memory and messes up so its hard to know what is right or wrong.
3:50 pm - Governmental and Not-For Profit Accounting. I put this class as another really hard one for this semester. But at least I actually understand what she is saying :)
6:01 pm - Finally get back home. Eat dinner, do some homework, pack for the weekend, and then an early bed time!

Wednesday
6:30 am - I'm ready to shoot the alarm at this point! During the summer I was getting up at 5 some days and 7 other days. But for some reason 6:30 seems so much earlier then both!
Once up I got dressed, fixed hair, put make-up on, and then packed my one bag for today.
6:56 am - Left the house.
7:38 am - Made it on campus. Set in my car till it was time to walk to work.
8:00 am - Get to work.
8:01 am - The students start calling!
8:02 am - Realized today is going to be a long day!
12:00 - Took a 15 minute lunch so I can get off 45 minutes early today.
4:15 pm - Off work! What a lovely time of day! I went over to Chicken Express for my tea. Then was just about out of town when I get a phone call from a guy I was suppose to meet at 3 (but he didn't call), so I had to go back into town and get some papers from him.
5:30 pm - Made it home, had dinner, packed bags for classes, worked on some last minute homework problems and then went to bed at 10:15.

Tuesday
6:30 am - Alarm goes off.... It was still dark outside at this time today!
Get dressed (PICTURE TO COME), pack the car up with my THREE bags for the day, and grab some breakfast.
7:42 am - arrive at the school after leaving the house at 7:00 (front row parking)
I do not have class till 9:25 today but I heard yesterday that we were short on parking and I didn't want to have to walk very far!
7:49 am - arrive at gym. Work out for 25 minutes (elliptical and bike), get dressed in normal clothes, fix hair and make-up.
8:28 am - make it back to my car, eat breakfast (dry cereal and water), sit and watch DQ management get mad at all the students parking in their parking lot.
9:25 am - Ethics class. Going to be an interesting class. Already assigned to a group and I know 50% of the class and in my group I know no one! Crazy! There is a presentation at the end of the semester that I am already not looking forward too!
10:50 am - Financial accounting. The professor is pretty good. No homework in this class which I think isn't a good thing. But it means less work that I have to do :)
12:05 - Run into the old accounting society treasurer and had a few questions for him. We talked for a little while and I know all the info now!
12:18 - Gram came and picked me up and we went to lunch at Whataburger and then we out to the county office to look at birth records and marriage licenses. It was a lot of fun! We spent about an hour there. Didn't find what we were looking for, but we did find Papa's birth certificate. He was born back in the 1920's but they didn't file for one till the 1940's. Also we went by the bank and meet up with the President of the Accounting Society.
2:25 pm - Federal Tax Corporations - Oh my! This class is going to be difficult. The professor said its going to be our hardest class! I’m thinking that part of the hardness is because English is not his first language! While in this class I spent the whole time texting the guy who was sitting next to me. I learned more about him in that time that I did about tax!
3:50 pm - Governmental and not-for-profit accounting. This is going to be an interesting class. Today we had to go around the room and tell people about our self. It was interesting learning about everyone but oh how I didn't like when it was my turn! This class also has a presentation at the end of the semester! (I feel a sickness coming on the last week and a half of school!)
5:15 pm - stop by Mama's and Papa's.
6:13 pm - make it back home. Cook dinner and lunch. Start on homework.
10:39 pm - go to bed. This is the latest I have been to bed probably since the summer started :)

A week in the life - Monday
6:30am - Alarm goes off
Shelbi thinks - "this is way too early for anyone to be up!"
Shelbi's reality - get out of bed, turn on light, turn off fan, find something to wear (go though 4 shirts before deciding), brush teeth, do makeup, fix hair, and pack bag for work.
6:57am - Walk out the door
7:39am - make it to McD's for a glass of sweet tea ($1.08 - they went up in price by a penny! I was not a happy girl!)
8:00 am - get to work
12:45 pm - take my 15 minutes for lunch (the office ordered in pizza so that no one would leave today because it’s the first days of classes so the phones are ringing like CRAZY!)
1:32 pm - make a girl cry
2:23 pm - write up the first half of the blog post
More to come....
3:15 pm - Drank all 3 water bottles I had today
4:07 pm - realized that this school will let anyone in :)
5:00 pm - work was done and received an email from a professor that she had something that I needed to come by and pick up
5:32 pm - left professor’s office with all the things I needed for being the treasurer of the accounting society. I was also given a recommendation from that professor to be the next Becker rep at the college. We will see how that goes :)
6:17 pm - made it back home, make dinner, clean room, pack my three bags for tomorrow, and get ready for bed.
9:28 pm - Good night for tonight.

Summer 2012 Goals
After school I had high hopes of posting my summer goals and I thought I did. Till I came on today to update you on how I am doing on my goals. And I realized that yall didn't know what my goals were. So I am going to post/update yall on my summer plans all at once :)
I love my new calendar book! And it is already filling up pretty fast!
1 - Move to Grandparents house.
This I finished the weekend after school was out. But I still have been trying to find a place for everything.
2 - Fix or buy printer.
G-dad had an extra printer sitting around and said I could use it as long as I wanted!
3 - Make new calendar book.
I love my new calendar book! And it is already filling up pretty fast!
4 - Create cook book.
This I already had done I just wanted to make it look pretty!
5 - Finish all summer classes.
I have finished one back in May and I just started the next one last week. Its business law and I am loving it! (so far atleast :)
6 - Go to 2 Drive-ins on list.
This one is going to be a littler harder then I figured it would be, there are very few drive-ins located in this area of Texas. Most are three to four hours away.
7 - Finish the 3 books on Nook.
Only have one hundred pages to go and then I will be done with this one!
8 - Be able to run 3 miles straight.
Decided to postpone this till the Fall semester where I will have a treadmill and be able to go the distance and time I would like. Instead I am doing more strength training and such this summer. I have already finished a month of Boot Camp and am now starting Kettlebell, Yoga and another round of Boot Camp.
9 - Find a job in G-Bury.
This one is turning out to be harder then I thought it would be. There are not many places who want a part-time worker. So if anyone hears of anything around this area let me know!

two of a kind
Today at work my boss started talking about what Chinese year he was. And so I decided to look mine up.
Well it just happens that Darbi, and Me share they same Chinese Animal.
The Sheep...
Sheep simply want a bit of peace. They enjoy carrying on with life in their own quiet, individual way, content to be in the middle of it all rather than to be leading it. Sheep are quiet and calm people. They enjoy cultural things and focus much of their energy on artistic hobbies. Sheep are easygoing and relaxed, happy to be going with the flow.
AT HOME WITH THE SHEEP
Sheep truly enjoy being at home. They spend their time there doing arts and crafts, cooking and knitting. Sheep are most comfortable on their couches in the privacy of their homes, relaxed and tranquil. Their homes are as simple as they like to feel. They are elegant and timeless, and their homes reflect their artistic flair. The Sheep will go to any expense to be comfortable and to enjoy convenience.
MONEY AND THE SHEEP
Sheep generally appear well-off. They love to spend money but do not find comfort or satisfaction in material things. They do have a knack with money though, which is well-suited for a person who spends money like the Sheep does. Sheep are always dressed to a T, looking well-groomed and well-dressed
Relaxing...
Finals are over!
Summer started yesterday and ends Monday for me. But its all good. Once I get a "real job", I will never get a summer so I better start preparing myself for that right?
I am planning on taking 12 hours over this summer break. I know I am crazy! But if I want to graduate next May this must be done! The classes I'm taking are online, and at a community college (a little more then 1/4 the cost of the university price). Econ 2 starts on Monday (May 14th), Management, Business Law, and Speech.
While I was walking back to my job after lunch today, I was reminded of how pretty this campus is and how relaxing it is. But I never notice it while students are here :) College would be so much nicer without the students!
Well I am going to see if there is any work for me to do.
Love Shelbi

One Down Three To Go
As of right now I have taken only one of my finals.
I'm trying to study for the next one which starts at 1pm.
I was just told that I am the treasurer next year for the Accounting Society.
And I can't remember if I told, y'all and I don't want to go back and look, but next year I will also be the secretary for Delta Mu Delta (Business Honor Society).
Nik is gonna go pick up lunch for us from Chili's. I am a happy girl! :)
